Why We Launched the GreenHarvest Project?

Agriculture is facing increasing challenges today, including climate change, soil degradation, water scarcity, biodiversity loss and the growing need for more sustainable production models. These challenges clearly show that farmers, agricultural professionals and adult learners need to be supported with innovative, environmentally friendly and climate-resilient approaches.

The project “Advancing Regenerative Agriculture for a Sustainable Future – GreenHarvest” was developed in response to these needs. Implemented under the Erasmus+ KA210-ADU programme, GreenHarvest aims to promote regenerative agriculture practices, strengthen soil health, improve climate adaptation capacity and enhance the knowledge and skills of adults working in or connected to the agricultural sector.

Today, agricultural production is not only about producing more. It is also about protecting the soil, using water efficiently, supporting biodiversity, reducing carbon emissions and increasing the economic resilience of farmers and rural communities. With this holistic perspective, GreenHarvest approaches regenerative agriculture not only as a farming method, but also as a vision for a more sustainable future.

Through this project, we aim to empower farmers, agricultural professionals, adult educators and local stakeholders by increasing their awareness and practical understanding of regenerative agriculture. The main topics of the project include soil health, composting, water management, agroforestry, carbon farming, climate-resilient production models, green entrepreneurship and digital agriculture.

GreenHarvest does not focus only on theoretical knowledge. One of our key priorities is to transfer this knowledge into practice. Therefore, the project includes the development of educational materials, digital learning content, training videos, local pilot activities, international training opportunities and dissemination activities. In this way, we aim to ensure that the project results remain accessible, useful and sustainable even after the project period ends.

Another important reason for launching GreenHarvest is to strengthen cooperation at European level in the field of sustainable agriculture. By bringing together the experiences, good practices and local needs of partners from different countries, the project creates a shared learning environment. This cooperation will contribute to the development of greener, more inclusive and more resilient agricultural practices at both local and European levels.

GreenHarvest represents a meaningful step towards the future of sustainable agriculture. We believe that a sustainable future cannot be achieved without healthy soil, resilient ecosystems and well-informed producers.

For this reason, GreenHarvest is more than a project. It is a collective effort to support transformation in agriculture, promote environmental responsibility and contribute to a more liveable world for future generations.
